A VISIT WITH JEROME KOKO OF MAKAHA SONS . . .

Coinciding with the Polynesian cultural revival of the 1970s, perhaps no music group was better regarded or more renown than Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau (later shortened to Makaha Sons), the foundational home for breakout Hawaiian-music superstar, Isreal Kamakawiwoʻole.
Readers of a certain age still regard that group and that era as the pinnacle of Polynesian music in the Hawaiian Islands.
Let's all “time-machine” back to those days when we all, very likely, looked better in our board shorts and beach attire than we do currently!
