TREKING AT OAHU'S TIP . . .

The terminus of Oahu's Waianae Mountains dip down toward the sea, just past Makua Valley and not far from Makaha Valley Towers, until they disappear completely along the plain of Ka'ena Point.
It's as secluded a spot as about anywhere on Hawaii's most populated island.
Because this area is sandwiched between the U.S. Army's Makua Valley artillery range and the Ka'ena Pt. Satellite Tracking Station, access is restricted and photos of the area are seldom seen.
Recently, however, a group of four-wheelers went camping at this terminus (which is allowed by prearranged permit), and posted stunning videos of their experience.
